Summer

Girl With An Addiction is dying from dehydration.

Not really, it's just so flippin' hot and I can't go to the beach or anything.

As a matter of fact, I can't even wear a bikini, or a T-shirt, so I'm stuck wearing singlets all week...

I hate sunburn. I went for a really lovely walk/hike/trek (call it what you will, but personally, it felt like a hike!) from Gerringong to Kiama with my grandfather a few days ago... It was really hot, really sunny, and I was wearing a singlet top. Being stupid, I didn't put any sunscreen on, so when I got home and changed I noticed a lovely, thick white mark from where my straps were sitting. The rest of my chest, shoulders, and back were completely red... Like a tomato. Not kidding.

It hurt so much that I could barely move at work, which was just great!

And now it's past the stage of peeling. Last night (at work I might add) I noticed I was really itchy, and so I went to the bathroom and took a look.

I nearly screamed.

To my horror, the burnt areas were covered in ghastly water blisters, so when I accidentally touched them, they popped, and so my horrible uncomfortable journey of peeling begins.

Though I look really weird, what with white marks on me and all, it's really quite a lesson that I hadn't intended on ever learning. So thank you sun!

Apart from being burnt, I love summer!

Surprisingly, I'm not the type of girl who loves the beach. Yes I will go to tan, chillax with friends, laugh at people who are just weird, and swim in the shallows.... Oh and perve (I'm not gonna lie). What type of teenager doesn't perve when at the beach? (No offence intended if you don't actually perve.)

So anyways, Summer is awesome. I love Summer because it means I can wear skirts... Really pretty skirts. I've realised that wearing floral skirts and dresses are my signature thing... Which I am more than okay with =D

Summer, in a list:
Iced coffee
Ice cream (Screw the lactose!)
Water fights
Singing "Summer Nights" off Grease
Chillaxing with friends
Chillaxing with family
Beach
Pool
Picnics
The scent of sunscreen (Yes, I like it)
The scent of Summer (So I'm a little weird...)
Wearing shorts, skirts, singlets and bikinis
Daylight savings
Morning walks
Evening walks
Drinking coke (especially vanilla)
Jumping off a Giant Coke Bottle (It's on my list!)
Sunrise
Sunset
Flowers
Family get-togethers
Parties
Happiness
The magic of it all. How Summer just seems to drift on by... Then you look back and remember how fun it all was, as if it was magical...

I love Summer, can you tell?

You should love Summer too... If you do, then high-five to that! Enjoy it! It only comes once a year (well, sorta), and it doesn't last long... And if you don't, why not?

Summer is amazing, enjoy it, laugh with it, live for it, love in it, and never forget it.
