I'm dedicating this blog to a really great friend, who shall remain nameless for this blog's purpose. Some of you may know him, some of you may not, but if you do know him then you'll know what a lovely person he is.
I hate the world. It's satanic, and unjust. That pretty much sums it up.
Firstly, I hate wordly views. I hate the fact that everyone (and don't say you don't, because you do) stereotypes others. There's a guy dressed in all black walking down the street... So he must be a goth. There's a girl and her hair looks like a rainbow and she's wearing layers of eyeliner... So she must be scene. What a bout that guy who's really good at sport? He must be a jerk. Or the girl who's always happy? She must be a bimbo. Or how about the guy who's really smart? He must be a nerd. Even the girl who wears all the nice things... She must be rich.
What I hate most, is that people just judge. "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Yeah, we judge it by it's cover. We see the book, we look at it's cover, notice some distinct features, maybe even pick it up for a bit to see if we want to open it. The sad reality is that we do the same with people. We see a person, notice what they're wearing, what they're hair/face looks like, their height, and their weight. Then we might notice how they act towards others. If we like what we see, we make a move, and an effort, to talk to them in hopes of befriending someone who is pretty much a pick-and-choose person; picking and choosing them for what they look like. It's the perfect idealisation. Making some one based on who you want them to be, like a robot. You see a person with black hair, another with red. Naturally, you choose the colour you like best and go from there. It's sick.
But what about from the other perspective? I know a few people who actually ignore outward appearance. A few. How sad is that? We spend our time trying to "better" ourselves, with make-up, clothes, the way talk, what we own, even to who we hang around. It's petty, and stupid. Why bother?
Because the world sets up it's scheming ways by publishing persuasive magazines, and airing nonsense shows, where the people or topics are all just fake. Sure you have the real people like Dawson's Creek =P
Everyday a make-up company will release a new product. Everyday shops will have new some form of new stock to sell. Everyday a fitness/exercise company will build a new machine. We buy our way into a world that isn't real, to make everyone else happy.
Why bother?
If people are only going to appreciate you because of your appearance, have lots of money, or hang out with certain people, then screw them... Who would honestly people as shallow as that in their lives?
Don't bother trying to do what the world says. Don't buy that mascara, don't play for that footy team, don't buy those stupid jeggings, and stress less about your appearance.
The only thing that matters is who you are, and you should never let any one make you think otherwise... Ever.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
~1 Samuel 16:7~
What makes a person truly unique, is their confidence in being an individual.
Be yourself, and love yourself.

I feel like a quote out of context
ReplyDeleteWithholding the rest
So I can be for you what you want to see
I got the gesture and sound
Got the timing down
It's uncanny, yeah, you think it was me
Do you think I should take a class
To lose my southern accent
Did I make me up, or make the face till it stuck
I do the best imitation of myself.

Is this the controversial one?
I think it's very cool! :)
I also think you have more confidence than you give yourself credit for; something to ponder.
Hope you're well =]
That's one of my most favourite songs... :)
ReplyDeleteHehe yeah I guess so... I was going to write more... But I thought that would be enough. Thanks you :)
Sometimes I think that too. I just don't have the courage to believe it, and I wish I did. Thank you :)
Wow Jess, so true. Sadly, i judge people by appearance. We all do it without even realizing. Another thing is judging people by the ways others judge them.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to change, but sadly it wont happen without God: We are all too stupid and idiotic to change.
Thankyou
Great point Nat, and definitely true.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, you're one of the very few I know who don't judge as much as others... But by me saying that, is itself judging...
Once again, so true!
Thanks you for your continuous encouragement :)
